Verizon Wireless finally launches the HTC Touch Diamond

General

Verizon Wireless announced today that the long overdue HTC Touch Diamond will be available online and through business channels starting tomorrow, April 10th. The Touch Diamond will feature a 2.76″ touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera, microSD expansion that supports up to 16GB, GPS, TouchFlo 3D and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. But you knew all that, considering the Touch Diamond has been around forever at this point. Whether this model has been crippled cannot be determined as details on the processor, available RAM and GPS status are not yet available from Verizon. The Touch Diamond will retail for a pricey $299.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate and a new 2-year customer agreement. Excited, Verizon customers, or just aggravated considering the Touch Diamond2 is almost a reality at this point?

I have gotten tired enough of waiting on Verizon I’ll probably be terminating my contract early and jumping ship. I”m tired of their crap phones, old tech phones, and a UI that looks like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. I’m evaluating a G1 from TMo right now, but may hold off until the next round of Android phones hit the market, which hopefully happens soon.

WHY DOES IT COST SO MUCH!!! I went over to alltel a couple months ago, got a touch PRO for 179.99 and a touch diamond for 129.99. And my RAM wasnt crippled either. Oh, and by the way, verizon screwed up the UI it looks hideous. Thank goodness for the tf3d config theme changer program!

Its funny people planning to jump ship for the touch diamond even though there is no point getting the diamond when the touch pro released at the same time as the storm. Also verizon will have better phone when they got 4g since they using GSM technology(LTE).

I am with Altell and liked my contract and service it was not great service but it was much better than T-Moble! Now Altell is being changed over to Verizon and so far they are not impressing me at all with selection of phones or service. I hope the service its just growing pains. I loved my old HTC Touch 6900 it was a great phone! I am getting the 6950 in a few days and we will see what that is like.
