Hands on with the Palm Pre

General

Admit it… As much fun as it is to see the latest and greatest from around the mobile world at CTIA, there’s just one handset you’ve been waiting to see pop up here on BGR. We had to save something special for day two, didn’t we? Well the wait is over people — behold the Palm Pre in all of its glory. Following Palm’s announcement that early access to Palm’s Mojo SDK is now open, Palm was on hand in Sprint’s lair giving demos of various early apps that are currently available. We saw some great stuff including Pandora, MotionApps’ Palm OS emulator and Fandango, and once we cleaned up the drool that had collected on the floor we took a few snaps of the gorgeous handset mounted to its oh-so-awesome Touchstone wireless charger. Hit the jump, feast your eyes and sit tight for some video we’ll run tomorrow morning.

Hey hey hey! Cut it out you guys. Am I gonna have to seperate you? Don’t make me pull this car over. I will turn right back around and we will go home. Now stop it.

    Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).

@Hmmmm who said: “I don’t care about you, your ideas, or any other asshole on this site (backbeat) who wants to add their 2 cents to anything that I say. grow up, and STFU.”

“Assholes” are in the eye of the beholder. Don’t stir a shitstorm that doesn’t exist and you won’t end up with it all over you.

Incidentally, I agree with you where this thread is concerned.

Another Palm/Sprint article turned into a flame war, this time it’s 2 new offenders with a little help from our usual suspects. This is the internet, respect for other’s opinions isn’t common around these parts. I should’ve stayed out of it but thought it ought to be addressed even though it makes me a target

^Sticking your wide nose into it doesn’t help, DonVinnie. Something of which you have reason to be aware. Kindly leave your flamebaiting snailtracks elsewhere so peace can reign. :)

@Hmmmm- with comments like that and others you have left, its plain to see who needs to grow up. you must be about 13. nobody wants to read your idiotic toilet humor comments. just make clear concise ones and nobody gets hurt. why would i feel the need to pick up your pile of crap…i left it right where it was and moved on long ago. seems like you are the one who keeps stepping in it.

so is sprint going to post the release date on tv where i heard something about survivor? or would they just do it at a conference

  • Hmmmm

…not…gonna…feed….the…. troll. repeat. not gonna feed the troll. (whew!)

  • JakeyBoy

its all good man. you can go ahead and eat.

  • Hmmmm.

is there some kind of anti-troll repellent…? on the topic of the phone, the slide out curvature of pre is something that I think will change the game.

Now that Apple has confirmed it crippled Bluetooth so it can’t have HID (Human Interface Devices) to access wireless keyboards, this Palm is like a breath of fresh air. And the new UI is years ahead of Apple to boot. Can’t wait to get my hands on this thing.

^Just because the technical profile exists doesn’t mean that it’s worth a left-over shit. Bluetooth, to -any- discerning ear sounds like FM … only with twice as much hash and compression even with top-quality earbuds.

Until the day that Bluetooth grows up [if it ever happens], that fact does not change. For the 2% of users who want to use a bluetooth keyboard with their iPhone or Touch, your mouthy minority will just have to wait. ;)

Those who have to work for a living are not waiting for Apple and the next iFart app. Haven’t you noticed that RIM’s sales are going through the roof and the Waterloo company is in the process of adding 3,000 engineers to its staff “in this economy”? Berry users don’t have to carry their 17″ laptops to get some work done, unlike iPhone users.

^Interesting that you say that childish garbage, given that a high degree of Blackberry users have historically used a secondary phone for nights/weekend use. Mostly unlocked phones so as to have a single contract to be concerned about. In fact, many of -today’s- Blackberry users continue to use either an iPod Touch as their mp3 player/WiFi-email device of choice, or an iPhone as their secondary phone of choice. It wasn’t long ago that RAZRs were the slim, secondary phone of choice. Now that Blackberry is making real efforts to converge both productivity with the ability to keep one self entertained, those 2-device per person numbers are diminishing, but still they still exist in high numbers. You can choose not to use an iPhone if you like, but you look a bit like an childish, arrogant fool given all the Blackberry company around you who does. ;)

^^^ does anyone else just think backbeat is a vindictive asshole? Mind you he’s always answering questions no one asks? What is your defect? Did someone tell you “your not good enough!” Or simply you assume everyone is interested in your over the top almost biblical insight. Your not the messiah! No one likes you! Your the fat kid who smells like bacon all the time. And proving your smart or least the effort you pretend your smart isn’t going to get anyone to play with you at recess. Your always getting off topic with your idiocy.

Quite frankly just Shut Up! If anyone else agrees!

    Say I!

    I’m a PC

    And a Berry!

To those new to his language, he is referring to “facts” here.
