iPhone OS 3.0 beta 2 seeded to devz

General

Ooooh, can you hear that? That’s the static/dropped calls/jumbled audio on everyone’s iPhone running 3.0. Luckily, keeping in tradition, Apple has seeded a new build for OS 3.0 for qualifying developers (read: people that threw down credit cards/bought spots from Craigslist). Let us know if you manage to install it and notice any changes, ok?

Thanks, Clifton!

what is this version called in the About screen? 3.0.1 or 3.0 beta 2?

  • Crunch

Are there any torrents for Beta 2?? I’d love to take a looksie, and report back for those who are interested aa to how stable or unstable it is.

Everyone was saying to stay away from Beta 1.

  • Crunch

And JD: NO. It will be 3.0.nothing. 3.0.1 will be the first small upgrade, and 3.1 a more hefty update.

    3.0 beta2 is ur answer.

Total. Epic. Fail. First off, while I’m sure Walmart has the greatest technology training program ever, you are well misinformed. Your problems with the point of sale system are not the iPhones fault no more than it is AT&T’s or Walmart’s. ALL dealer locations (authorized agents, Walmarts, Radio Shack, Sam’s Club, HH Gregg, etc..) us POS (it stands for Point of Sale which is amazing you didn’t know that since you used that phrase later in the post) and while I agree that it’s a terrible system (Iused to work at the Shack), it is AT&T’s way of not having to write custom software for all of these retailers to link it to AT&T’s backend and billing network.

OMG I cnt snd my rngtnes 2 mah buddies! Who cares? All this promotes is basically stealing ringtones, whether you got them legally though AT&T’s MEdia Mall or illegally through some conversion service online.

The cheapest plan is $70? True. Because you’re signing up for a premium service. You’re getting unlimited data. People in the US are so spoiled on their data plans. Overseas plans are twice that and don’t include unlimited data. I’m sorry you can’t pay $25 a month and get unlimited talk text and internet. But you have to pay to play. Taxes raise it to $100? SRSLY!? False!

Proprietary music store? It’s called iTunes and last time I checked it was the most popular music subscription service used in the world. What’s proprietary about that? What do you use your music for anyway? You can play it on your phone, iPod, and your computer.

Texting is easy if you actually practice. I’m sure you’re familiar with T9, but a lot of us realize that T9 was a solution to texting with 12 keys. Now that we aren’t bound by that limitation, it’s not needed. And trying to text with fingernails was never the intention of the device. Plenty of people have had no trouble whihc is why they’ve sold more iPhones than the EnV2/Rumor/Rant you’re carrying.

You’re actually telling your customers to take the data plan OFF when they get home? You do know that’s fraudulent right? You’re also the reason so many tweens are running around with $500 smart phones to text with. I hope you don’t get paid spiffs, because if you tell them to take the data plan off, you will get a charge back. It saddens me that people who are so biased are the ones educating customers.

    Total. Epic. Fail.

I think that rant defines the reason you work in a kiosk at wal-mart.

I remember a kid at my school years ago used to wear a pager that had no service on it. But he looked cool at least w/the pager right? Same deal carrying a bb w/o data. While I personally think the curve is a great text phone, I don’t think people who get it w/o data are getting it because of that, they are getting it because they are superficial enough to want a bb to flash around even if they can’t afford it, which judging by your place of employment and your complaint at 70 dollars, you can’t either. Just like that kid I went to school with. Of course you are probably catering to your own demographic anyway, so it probably works well for you. Not that walmart really sells that many phones anyway in the scheme of things.

I know what POS stands for. ATT isn’t the only company to use that acronym but thanks for checking :)
And since you obviously don’t know what you are talking about, I will correct you. In Walmart connection centers POS is only used for the activation of iphones. Prior to December of last year (when iphone launched in stores) Walmart did not have POS. Contrary to what you said about all retailers having it. Maybe “the shack” has it but walmart is not “the shack”
You can’t even use it for any phone but the iphone bc it’s restricted and certain links are disabled.

And btw not everyone feels its necessary to be able to browse youtube anywhere they want. Forgive me for thinking it’s silly and wasteful but hey I’m old fashioned and I could think of better things to do with $30 a month- like getting my nails done! so I can give you the finger :) a well-manicured finger at that.
I have a blackberry bc it was the only phone I liked at walmart at the time and need I remind you of the price difference?:it’s $20 compared to the $200 iphone. I know one other person with a BB and she convinced me to get one bc I actually didnt like them at all at first. It’s lightweight and customizable, it has an ok camera and it’s easy to text on because it has tactical input. I’m not completely biased against the iphone I dislike all phones that are all touch screens collectively; the vu, the eternity, the dare. I’m not alone when it comes to preference of tactical input. I like to text. I’m not a big talker and texting helps me keep in touch with my husband while he is away for work. And I can even send naughty pic messages! (Take that iphone! even though I’m sure that some ppl have already figured out a way to send pic msgs on iphones but who has the time to go through all the hacking?)

I did NOT have ATT training thank god bc I’m constantly fixing problems that associates from ATT stores cause. Just last week one of those idiots was trying to pry a sim card out of a palm centro bc he didn’t know you’re supposed to take out the stylus first! lol

But hey, I’m just a walmart employee what do I know? My store’s connection center is top ten in the company btw.

I don’t make commission and I’m glad. I’m a nice person and I actually care about people. I don’t sell people things they don’t need in order to make money off them. With or without feature adds I still get paid at the end of the day; even if I didn’t have a single customer and all I did was stand around, the numbers on my paycheck stay the same, and in a slumping economy I’m grateful to not be worried about my job since Walmart is doing just fine. It would be a lie to say that I am a lifer there bc I am not thrilled with the dress code and they can be total nazis but a job is a job and I can sleep at night knowing that I’m not ripping people off.
If an 80 year old woman asks me what the best option is for her and she tells me that she only wants a phone for emergencies, I’m honest with her, I set her up with a tracfone so that she will save her money AND live better!
    lol

And I download music for free, (yes I pirate music, its stealing blah blah blah)then I put it on my zune that I only bought bc its pink.

    @eric

The “total epic fail” thing is cute however grammatically incorrect:
    fail= verb
For that catchphrase to make sense you would need to use the proper form of the word which would be “failure” which is a noun.
Not everyone can be properly educated or have a degree so don’t feel bad.

and if someone actually buys a ringtone it’s silly that it’s locked to their phone. Why can’t you share it? If I have music on my computer I can put it on my phone for free and then bluetooth it to my friend who doesn’t have a computer. I don’t see any harm in that. It makes more sense than buying a 15 sec clip of a song for $2….

    @ chellykay…

    your internet vagina is huge…yeah

  • Mike M.

    lol @ chellykay

I actually thought the same thing when he said “total epic fail”, I was like dude, that’s not even gramatically correct to begin with haha.

you have no idea how the screen works do you??

its not heat sensitive at all. it senses the electrons traveling over your skin which is why your long nails wont work on it.
