General

Great news for Alltel customers this morning as the company announced some changes to its MyCircle calling feature. Customers in 91 divested markets across 22 states will wake up tomorrow with the option to add five more numbers to their MyCircle plans for free. The change applies to those of you with a MyCircle 10 or MyCircle 20 plan and the five additional unlimited numbers will become available automatically. Just in case you haven’t heard of this feature before and Chad doesn’t haunt your dreams like he does ours, MyCircle allows users to make and receive calls for free to any out-of-network numbers in the US. The number of MyCircle numbers available is determined by the plan Alltel customers choose. Here are the new plans (MyCircle 5 will remain unchanged):

Alltel Wireless expands industry leading “My Circle” calling feature to include five additional numbers for unlimited calling

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – In 2006, Alltel Wireless revolutionized the wireless industry with the launch of “My Circle,” the extremely popular calling feature allowing customers to make and receive calls to and from any number on any network. Starting tomorrow, Alltel is making “My Circle” an even more robust, more flexible and more cost-effective calling feature. In the 91 Cellular Market Areas (CMAs) that Verizon is required to divest, which will continue to operate as Alltel Wireless until they are sold, customers on “My Circle 10″ and “My Circle 20″ calling plans will automatically receive an additional five numbers for unlimited calling.

Alltel is once again demonstrating its steadfast commitment to providing its customers with value and unmatched control over their wireless experience with today’s announcement of a major expansion to “My Circle.”

With the addition of five numbers to “My Circle,” Alltel customers in these 91 CMAs in 22 states will now have unlimited calling to more of the people that matter most to them. The new “My Circle 15,” previously “My Circle 10,” and “My Circle 25,” previously “My Circle 20,” will maintain the same competitive rates. “My Circle 15″ starts at $59.99 per month and includes 900 anytime minutes, and “My Circle 25″ starts at $99.99 per month and includes 2,100 anytime minutes. The five additional numbers will be automatically available to existing “My Circle” customers on eligible plans.

“My Circle” pioneered the concept of unlimited calling, and we are thrilled to offer a level of flexibility and value to our customers which is not available from any other wireless carrier,” said Lynette Jurgens, Senior Marketing Leader, Alltel Wireless. “The best part is there is no action required by our customers to receive these additional numbers-they are instantly available to eligible accounts for customers in our 91 CMAs. By offering an additional five numbers to our most popular calling plans, Alltel is providing our customers with even greater value, and the freedom of unlimited calling to more of the people they talk to most often.”

Calls to “My Circle” numbers are in addition to anytime minutes, unlimited night / weekend minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile minutes included in customers’ calling plans. Alltel customers still enjoy the convenience of changing their numbers anytime and at no charge by simply going to http://www.alltel.com/myaccount

Alltel Wireless continues to be an industry-leader, providing choice and flexibility with its exclusive “My Circle” feature. And now, for customers in 91 CMAs, Alltel is providing unlimited calling to and from any five, 15 or 25 numbers on any network. Alltel Wireless was also the first to offer Anytime Plan Changes, giving customers the flexibility to change their calling plans at any time without extending their contract.

Who the fuck is talking about tv? Could you be any more dense, honestly this is hopeless

Backbeat…what’s your dislike and hate for anything Sprint? I’m glad your “value” is working for you in your Verizon or Alltel market, but that value isn’t much to those who don’t live in said markets, or even want unlimited calling to 15 people. Yes old Alltel is making value better if you plan to spend $60 a month, but I pay less then that and have more. NFL TV!?!? WTF does that have to do with anyone?

Please tell us all why you hate everything about Sprint and will keep berating anyone who likes anything that isn’t what you like…

By the way, I’m glad this calling plan is going on, it will create a bit of competition.

@donvinnie: you wanted to draw a comparison of what constitutes ‘value’. as i just stated here, you have your opportunity: http://www.bgr.com/2009/03/26/mycircle-from-alltel-now-with-more-circle/comment-page-1/#comment-434211

@rogera: we’ve been down this road before … multiple times. your sprint-pimp buddy is simply making a rectum of himself … again. sprint is not relative to this thread, -outside- of those trying to draw artificial or even false comparisons. good luck with that.

Lost cause who thinks too highly of themself and opinions and very little of others, true mark of an adolescent

  • backbeat

Why on the previous page were you so determined to make an issue of what constitutes ‘value’, yet here on Pg-2 … You’re a complete pussy about quantifying it [and can only deliver low-brow childish insults].

    Buddy.

  • jazzyl

That’s a nice feature for boosting customer retention once you use it then you are hooked and you will definitely upgrade or renew your contract.

You turn everything into a debate, go in any Sprint related thread and you’ll get all my points about value. This came about because Jamie was under the impression Alltel had expensive prices when My Circle launched. That is where the value argument started, next came some off the wall comment about NFL TV devaluing another carrier offering. This is where I stand on it and will leave it at that, the Everything bundles are $30 more than the talk plan but with that extra money you get data, messaging, nav, tv and radio and don’t forget NFL Mobile Live is included while having the ability to use a dumbphone or smartphone. That should be a sufficient explaination of value, now can you please bring this back to topic?

  • tavella

If you contact Sprint’s retention department, they can offer you Mobile-to-Home which allows you to call three numbers for free including toll free numbers. Get a Google Voice account, add that number to the Mobile-to-Home and unlimited calling on any plan if you use their web interface to initiate your calls.

  • tavella

Ok. Reread that and it sounds confusing. When you use Google Voice, your issued a phone number that will call you first and then call the other party when you use the Goog e Voice service. Should work for any provider that gives you either free incoming or call any number for free type service.

@DonVinnie who hypocritically said: “You turn everything into a debate”

Within this thread, I simply offered a comparison on the concept of ‘value’. One’s minutes and general data accessibility are the primary plans/features which hold the highest value, both in terms of their cost/plan and degree of utility. For the sole reason that a feature I mentioned happens to be provided by your Jesus-carrier, you took -personal- offense and have overreacted accordingly ever since. If I had used any other low-value feature, offered by any other carrier, your silence would have been deafening, Sprint-Pimp.

Remove your extreme prejudices from the equation and back out with a degree of dignity you didn’t have when you entered this thread.

  • Don Louie

Great defense, blame me because you have OCD and think everybody’s . Maybe I have OCD too

  • backbeat

^Own it like an adult. If you stop -acting- like a troll throwing reactionary insults … who knows what good could come from it …
    :)

  • Vince Lawry

It will not stop. A story about an enhanced feature has turned into “which carrier is full of it” and our usual culprit are right in the middle of it. I work a lot but every time I visit I’m noticing stuff directed towards Donnie Vinnie or Vinnie Donnie, is that supposed to be me

  • backbeat

    ^right on schedule. ;)

thanks for your misinformation (and extremely biased apologia), but that shit -still- don’t fly.

rather, it is as i stated it is here: http://www.bgr.com/2009/03/26/mycircle-from-alltel-now-with-more-circle/comment-page-2/#comment-434472

don’t like facing such a stark reality? tough.

  • Vince Lawry

I meant culprits, plural, because neither of you is blameless. Wish you both well

  • Don Louie

Did you just learn how to provide links, what’s the purpose of linking your post on the same page

  • backbeat

^Own it with dignity. To do otherwise defines you well.

  • Don Louie

You must be feeking froggy, deal with the value of this new enhancement to My Circle for little while

  • backbeat

^Fuck you -and- your well-recognized cowardice.

  • Don Louie

I’m a coward that’s on Congress & Pulaski Chicago, IL that will slap snot from your arrogant ass. I apologize to everybody on this board, the editors, authors and posters but this dude is irritating me and has severely tested my patience

  • backbeat

^Too bad you lack an ethical spine. According to your professional code, possessing one is purely optional. Thanks for removing -all- doubt of your intent.

As I’ve previously stated, Alltel is now kicking the ass of every carrier, where fundamental voice and data value is concerned. Creative, progressive competition is healthy and is most welcome.

  • Don Louie

Those divested markets are getting great treatment, it’ll be interesting to see who gets those 2M subs and if these perks will be carried on

  • blink_wigger

Who are these two, and why haven’t they got a room yet?…Although entertaining and somewhat juvenile, I find myself unable to tune out…

I remain a fan of this thread.
