HTC Touch Pro2 headed to T-Mobile USA?

Rumor

A leaked ROM over at xda-developers suggests that the Touch Pro2, codenamed Rhodium, may be headed to T-Mobile in the not-so-distant future. The ROM is for a device, RHOD21000, with the CID of  T-MOB010 — the US country ID also used for the Dash and the Shadow — and has a target language listed as “USA”. The ROM has the usual Windows Mobile fare from both 6.1 and 6.5 including Facebook, YouTube, Opera, the HTC-specific game Teeter and even a MyFaves tab on TouchFLO 3D. So, T-Moblers, how sweet would that be? We’ll be sure to keep an ear to the ground at CTIA and see what we can dig up.

Update: Hit the jump for what appear to be live images of the T-Mobile branded Touch Pro2 headed to Tmo US.

I dont doubt T-Mobiles Coverage is Good Im Sure its Great..But is the Coverage Everywhere? NO.

What i meant by T-Mobile not having Real 3G was is their 3G Everywhere? NO.

Therefore getting excited over T-Mo’s 3G is like bragging you can take a Metro Phone outside a Coverage City.

With Sprint & Verizon you can get 3G and Service in HELL…So ill wait for That CDMA/GSM Model Sprint Will Get Later in the year…Ill just stop by a T-Mo store when this is out to see how i like it.

3 Phones Jugglin, no carrier has service EVERYWHERE, 3G or otherwise. It doesn’t matter whether or not T-Mob as coverage everywhere. Where I live, and where I traverse to regularly is covered, so if this device is truthful, then it is the device for me and people like me.

Ok, I have the HTC Pro/At&t Fuze on T-mobile. The speed is ok for edge, aint all that. I was considering upgrading again, (hasn’t even been like 3 months with the HTC Pro and im already tryna upgrade again, lol).. anyway, to the this Pro 2/wing 2 but now I’m hearing it wont support their 1700- 3G network. Like are u serious. If that’s the case what’s the sense coming out with an high tech phone such as only to be used on Edge. T-mo is so slow with stuff these days. I here sprint or one of them are coming out with 4G and T-mo is now rolling out their 3G. Damn shame! I guess ill keep the Pro/Fuze cause, its exactly the samething just with a bigger screen. 3G wold have made a big difference. Y only the G1 gets 3G??

Peace out G1. I love T-Mobile and this is why. I was thinking about getting the MDA Vario IV (Europes version of this phone) but if I can get a TmoUs branded version that supports 1700 AWS?? Hellz yeah! I am going to shatter my G1 in a public place when I get this phone. No, but seriously, I am giving it to my dad.

Ahh, I cannot wait to say bye bye to Android.

Looks great the features seem interestingly nice, but T-mobile? Not a good option for those who rely on a serious customer service, signal boost, roaming rates that are reasonable and most important PDA HANDSETS that are insured and replaced without the drama. So, I’ll wait fr AT&T to bring it. Still have my Tilt just got a free warranty replacement cause of the usb slot. Thanks guys. Good Hunting.

I am for sure getting this phone. Yes it will support the 1700-3g network and I don’t care if you Sprint and ATT fanboys say T mobiles 3g sucks. It works where I live and where I travel. I had Sprint prior to T mobile and their coverage was terrible. Lastly, T mobile’s customer service has always been great to me. Recently my Fiance called to change our plan and they told her that since we have been customers for 5 years without a late payment, they offered us a unlimited calling/texting plan for $99.99 (Both Phones) and an additional $9.99 for unlimited data (Each Phone). Beat that price on your Verizon/Sprint/ATT network.

Ever since my MDA died I reduced my t-mobile service to voice and sms only and am using a motofone f3 and a samsung blackjack II on at&t for data/e-mail (exchange server) through our company. I so miss the touchscreen and decent size keyboard (I have big clobbers). To everyone complaining about t-mobile 3g service: Have you used “3g” with at&t? It’s a joke (at my house in downtown denver) … edge on t-mo was more reliable and plenty fast compared to this. Roaming fees for data? Never paid any with t-mo, but couldn’t even use at&t in Germany without activation and monthly fee. Customer service on t-mobile has been wonderful. If this new device is priced reasonably (up to 300 USD susidized) and retains most of the cool functions the “standard” HTC touch pro2 has (such as the conference calling features) I am “back in business” with a single device … goodbye at&t (hopefully for good).

I’m sort of confused why HTC is sending their phones to TMO with TMO’s small footprint & the diffiiculty so many are having with that. Is this to be a secluded market?
