LG Viewty II gets viewed

General

It’s no mystery that when LG puts its game face on, it means business. LG can churn out a sexy handset with the best of them and those currently exploring the 8 megapixel camera phone market might just want to hold off until the world gets a better look at LG’s upcoming Viewty II. Sure, it looks just like every other dime-a-dozen touchscreen-dominated handset out there but you know what they say about judging a phone by its case…

  • 3-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) touchscreen display
  • 8 megapixel Schneider-Kreuznach camera, Xenon flash
  • Quad-band GSM, HSPA, Wi-Fi
  • S-Class UI
  • DivX playback
  • aGPS

As you can see, the limited specs we have thus far paint a pretty nice picture — assuming the price is right of course. You can also expect 30 fps video capture along with a plenty more camera-centric bells and whistles, no doubt. Hit the jump for a shot of the back.

When LG starts putting real funds into support VS marketing, they may become a contender. Until then … They’re all show and no go …

Sexy for sure, but doubt we’ll see this on our end of the world (US). Hopefully, but doubtful… :(

    Until then, T-Mobile Samsung Memoir

Agree with everyone else in that this will be vaporware for the U.S. Even if Verizon got their hands on it they’d cripple it so bad it would be worthless.

Is the touch screen capacitive or resistive? If it is resistive, nobody is gonna buy it. There are WinMo devices out there with the same or better specs, but the iPhone and the BB Storm are just so much better because of their capacitive screens. I hope that capacitive touch screens are going to be the new standard of touch screen phones, so that Apple is finally given a reason to innovate again.

it is possible at&t could pick it up to refresh the dated lg vu. But exclusively touch screen is not my thing. In the long run it sucks hard. Buttons to the end

8 megapixels!? Really? 1) if there’s no memory card included (16gb hopefully) most people will probably be stuck with 3 pictures at the highest resolution using the onboard memory. Let’s also remember, it’s not the size of the picture, it’s the quality. When they start putting in decent lenses then even the lowest 3.2mpixel photos will look great.

I wish the industry would get off the “bigger is better” idea when it comes to photos. I’m going to get a 16000×12000 image of a crappy photo….wooohoo!!
