Verizon CDM 8795 PTT phone strikes a pose

Exclusive

While it might not be the most exciting handset Verizon will be pushing out this year, the CDM 8795 looks to have quietly been made available to business customers this week. This handset certainly isn’t going to appeal to those looking to stay on the cutting edge but as a solid PTT handset for work, it’s a definitely contender. In terms of hardware, you’re looking at a clam shell form factor with fairly solid construction and a very usable layout. The left side of the phone is home to a data cable port, volume keys and a prominent red PTT button while the right side holds a microSD slot, speakerphone button, camera button, voice dialing button and a 2.5 mm audio jack. Dedicated music buttons can be found beneath the external secondary display along with a front-facing speaker, while the inside has dedicated buttons for email/mobile web and VZ Nav flanking the d-pad. Pricing is not confirmed but it looks like the CDM 8795 will run you $149.99 with a 2-year contract. While the phone isn’t yet available on Verizon’s website, we’re hearing corporate customers should be able to snag one immediately via telesales. Hit the jump for a few more shots.

Thanks, Dena!

    @celz

    All of VZW EVDO is Rev A now.

    And we got one Sprint PTT phone, it was slow.

    It wouldnt work while Roaming on 3G Alltel eather, but the VZW one did in the Same area, on Alltel 3G.

    Sprint is not reliable like Verizon.

    Verizon told us they are upgrading all Alltel towers to EVDO Rev A.

    But Sprint/Nextel lost a company of 10 years.

    Sprint/Nextel is useless. There phones are ugly, and there data is slow. There service is horrible, and there customer service wasn’t very helpful.

    Verizon has plans to make it all DOrA, it’s not there yet glad your company is happy though

    I heard verizon coming out with a PTT Blackberry anyone heard any other rumors of this?

    That would be the ultimate smack in the face if vzw got a DOrA ptt smartphone before Sprint

    I have used Nextel push to talk since the first issue and find it very satisfactory in fact the audio is far more clear and understanding than the Verizon Boulder which I am trying to return. The L.A, Countyfire department has used it for years
