Verizon Wireless to discontinue Test Drive program and lower New Every Two discount

Exclusive

Verizon Wireless Test Drive, New Every Two

An internal Verizon Wireless document details changes to both its Test Drive program and New Every Two (NE2) program. Effective February 15th, 2009, Verizon will be discontinuing its Test Drive Program. The program allows new customers to try out Verizon’s service for 30 days risk free. If the customer chooses to port his/her number to another carrier and terminate service with Verizon, Verizon will waive the wireless access and usage charges for the minutes used. A nice deal for customers who want to try out Verizon and not incur a big bill. Customers who sign up for new service on or after February 15th and cancel or port their number will no longer get a free pass and will have to pay all wireless access and usage charges. Hit the jump for details on the soon to be lowered New Every Two discount and the full slide detailing all the changes.

Also effective on February 15th are changes to the popular, if not confusing, New Every Two program that encourages customers to sign up for a 2-year contract renewal by offering an additional discount on a new handset. Customers with a monthly calling plan that is $79.99 and greater currently enjoy a $100 NE2 discount on a new handset. Under the new plan, that discount will fall to a meager $50. Likewise, customers with a monthly calling plan of $34.99 to $79.98 will see their NE2 discount fall from the current $50 to $30. The take home message here is this: if you you are potential new customer or a current customer eligible for NE2 and want to get the best value from what Verizon Wireless has to offer, then get yourself down to a Verizon Wireless store before February 15th.

So it’s not advertised and thier no documetation of said program, the link provided and said the link tells of this phantom 10 month discount that’s nowhere on that page but I’m supposed to get it in writing because your case wasn’t proven. I RTFA and still see no reference to a partial 1 year discount related to NE2 or the regular new customer price

Do the Google and I’m sure you can find your fellow trolls from your CDMA brethren raving about their 1-Yr discount under the same plan. Knowledge is only for those who seek it.

Otherwise, we’ll agree to disagree (though every Verizon customer who has used them over the past several years, especially for ‘advanced devices’, is aware of this option).

I’ve seen you post invalid links before to support your ramblings, you tried earlier in your post in this thread. Documentation or this is a lie, the burden of proof is on you. The VIP is exclusive to who and those not enrolled get what after a year, partial new customer price, full new customer price of a $30-$50 discount or some combination. I’m trying get a clear undertanding of this yearly upgrade program that you have lots of information on, share it and tell how to enroll it would be benefical to the community. Do the world that favor or do you think this will be ammunition, of your many carriers Sprint poses no threat so divulge. On a side note she probably won’t because that would be gaming the system, don’t approve of that.

You give ‘unintelligible’ a whole new meaning, Louie.

I’ve said my peace on the NE2′s provision for 1-Yr contracts. It’s understandable that, unless you had been a Verizon customer over the past several years, you wouldn’t know anything about this. Nothing is in writing [as in brochures that I'm aware of that specifies the 1-Yr provision], so … as I said previously, we can agree to disagree or you can continue to beat this dead horse for your own personal reasons. I’m unconcerned either way.

I did my due diligence and have my answers, a new phone for everyone, every year at promotional price as long as the plan is at least $50, no additional discounts apply, NE2 is the same just less money off. I got my information from a vzw store and the most current brochure, it’s readily available. Neither the brochure or the reps had anything to say about NE1, as it was called. Still is the best upgrade program on the market, hands down.

    ^That’s nice.

So is that an admission that… oh nevermind

Go with Cricket. They have a better network than AT-T. You coulnd’t even make calls in DC for several hours each day during Obama-Rama. How important are emails and calls anyways so you can get that fancy screen on the bold?
