Spy shots of Verizon’s rumored Casio Exilim phone emerge

Rumor

Casio Exilim Verizon Spy Shot

A South Korean blog has leaked what it claims to be spy shots of the rumored new Casio Exilim phone headed to Verizon Wireless. The new CDMA Casio handset with Exilim branding recently made its way through the FCC not too long ago and all we could really tell from those FCC documents is that the handset will support dual band CDMA, EV-DO Rev. A and bluetooth. The new images and leaked information suggests that the Exilim phone will be based on the Casio W53CA Exilim flip phone with a touch of Verizon love. It will sport a 5.1MP camera, possible 3x optical zoom and a WVGA screen. We have not confirmed the authenticity of these shots but there are definitely more intriguing handsets that Photoshoppers could be spending their time making fake images of. As such, don’t be surprised if the released Exilim looks familiar once it’s announced. Hit the jump for a shot of the front of the phone.

Thanks, Alex!

if these images were real, shouldnt the second picture with the glossy black cover show a camera in the gloss (assuming a camera was taking the picture)

    lol this looks pretty fake.
I’ll wait for more credible pictures to show up.
Or at least for the Voyager 2 ! lol :s

p.s. and somehow, maybe it’s just me but, I think the Verizon check logo just looks a little off….hmmm……

does that say water resistant under the optical zoom? that would be interesting

If this is true, I hope Verizon/Casio will actually release the phone with specs similar to KDDI’s W53CA, including large 2.8″ screen. Their past collaborations (the G’zOne phones which were based on au by KDDI models as well) all turned out to have crappy cameras and small screens. Let’s hope they get this one right.

No offense to Casio, who btw has a great customer service, but the Exilim cameras are pretty worthless, making it’s way to a phone is about right.

    @ JakeyBoy,

Yeah I happen to have a Casio Exilim 7 mpx camera and it’s pretty much a piece of crap. It feels real generic, I only got it cause it was on sale for about $99 dollars lol.

haha that is kinda fugly looking actually….

and in response to the verizon logo looking weird, my vzw phone has the check ON TOP of the word verizon. not next to it.

I suspect this is going to be more of a camera that happens to have a phone, rather than a phone that happens to have a camera. I only say that because a camera is nice to have but a phone can actually be a lifeline in case of emergency.

That being said I think I’ll rely on a company that has a reputation for solid phones like RIM, LG, Moto, Samsung, etc. in lieu of a Casio phone.
