Nokia RM-412 “Victoria” scoots through FCC

While there isn’t much to be learned yet from this particular entry, it’s always nice to see a new handset approved by the FCC. The latest device to get said treatment, Nokia’s RM-412, might sound a bit familiar to you – and with good reason. Codenamed “Victoria”, the RM-412 is one of several handsets leaked on Nokia’s internal smartphone roadmap back in November. Unfortunately, it’s also one of only three devices that simply included a “?” in the Notes field on the internal document. As such, we really have no idea what’s coming as details gained from the FCC filing are scarce for the time being. We know it is a quad-band GSM handset with tri-band WCDMA (900/1900/2100 MHz) and also that it has a counterpart, RM-413, that is likely an identical model with a variation in WCDMA frequencies (NAM variant perhaps). It packs an anemic 1000 mAh battery, WiFi and Bluetooth but beyond that we’re still in the dark. The FCC will release photos of the handset on March 17th in the coming year, but we expect plenty more detail to come to light before then.

Thanks, David!
