I guess ppl don’t bother reading. Mike just said this update won’t work for the 9530 so don’t fuck up your shit just for the sake of trying, lol.

More like a Corvette against a roller skate as the Storm has no WiFi, locked GPS, no voice and data at the same time, and almost no apps!

While the iPhone already has 10,787 apps, WiFi with FREE hotspots, and loads of navigation based apps!

    @paul,

Let’s try and not turn this into an iPhone v Storm debate. There are tons of those already.
BG, wonder how many friends you have over the pond that have upgraded?

  • SKEFMLM

Verizon will be releasing version 5 for the Storm tomorrow (Friday) via OTA or website.

    @ Derek R.

Believe me, you can get around the $35 restocking fee if you take your phone back because it doesn’t work. If the first person can’t help you, ask to talk to someone else higher up that can.

    @ SKEFMLM

Where did you get that info?

  • SKEFMLM

Manager/friend at my local Verizon store. I try to stay updated on mobile products and as one of my sources I have been checking with him on release date/version number.

  • Maliek

    @ SKEFMLM

when you say version 5, are you referring to v4.7.0.75 that was already leaked? If so, do you know if it will have updates to some of the bugs that are already in that leaked version?

  • cubanbbowner

Yea what’s the deal with limited apps on the storm? And this version 5, will that enable faster acelemeter?

  • DavidB

Truly, what does “version 5″ mean? Sounds like an idiot source that is totally clueless about BB software.

  • redman12

Mirror the OS! its really slow downloading.

    Updated my Vodafone Storm tonight.

    No noticeable differences.

    Camera taking half a picture.

    Sigh.

man BGR is taking a beating over .76 from crucial on crackberry.

I think BGR should post a new blog post regarding all the critism. Crucial has been ripping you guys saying you are FOS that .76 is so much better than .75.

  • spoofyroot

if you do “check for update” on the storm it now hangs for a while.. earlier today it would simply say “no updates available” .. so i suspect an update will be available soon.

  • Verizon Rep

I am a Verizon Wireless representative and I would like you all to know that OS 4.7.0.78 for the Verizon Wireless Blackberry Storm will be available at 12 Noon EST via OTA and BDT.

Mike’s an idiot, don’t bag on him. Most people understand how to open their email and use it. Plus there is an option on the phone that tells them when there is new software to download. DUUUUH!!!! Learn how to use your phone before you start baging on RIM. Do you need help with your remote control for your TV…..GEEZ!!!

  • I Hate Loser

This update is for Vodafone only. Go to Crackberry for the Verizon update and Vodafone. Verizon will officially release 12/5….probably at 12:00am.

Verizon Rep I hope you’re right about .78, which would make it newer than .75 that was leaked and .76, BGR’s version.

  • John

I found a version of .76 on line and upgraded over the weekend. It was a bit trickier thatn upgrading to .75, but could have been pilot error (it reverted back to .65 initially)
Compared to .75, it might be a bit quicker regarding accelerometer and picture views are quicker, but still has a lag at times. I’d give the device a grade of B+ now up from the D of .65. Not perfect, but a drastic improvement.

  • ALEX

    HOW DID U INSTALL IT?
I DOWNLOAD IT IN MY COMPUTERS BUT I DON’T KNOW HOW INSTAL IN MY BB

Have had this phone for 5 days and I am taking it back today.

First problem got red message Speaker off. After 1/12 hrs. on the phone with Verizon and Blackberry with no help, did search on google. Others have had same problem. there are 4 possible reasons and cures. After doing each has worked ok.

Second problem is bluetooth headsets. Have tried 4 and each does the same thing.Works when it wants to, but not when I need it. Or just doesn’t accept the call start or end.

Third problem. With wired headset when set volume than hang up get another call it resets volume to max. This is a pain when driving on highway.

Blackberry and verizon should have not released this with all the problems.

    I give it a rating of “0″.
