HTC G1 already shipping, many to be delivered by Friday

T-Mobile customers, we hope you’re ready for some solid Android love. Word on the street is that Santa will be showing up a bit early for many people who pre-ordered the HTC G1. In fact, several people have reported their handsets have already shipped and are scheduled for delivery this Friday, the 17th. In other words, a full five days ahead of the scheduled delivery date. In this day and age that’s almost unheard of so we have to nod our heads to T-Mobile on a job well done. If you pre-ordered a G1, hit the UPS site ASAP and let us know if yours is on its way. For everyone else, we’re getting pretty close to go time so don’t despair.

    Hey, Hector. Same problem here, wrong wall charger. I called and they told me “sorry” but you wont get your charger til Wednesday. I told them that how was I going to use the phone without charging and they told me they’re going to give me a month of free data service. Other than that, I love this phone. :]

    Sammy, You got more luck than I did. you get to enjoy free data for a month. I have to wait until tomorrow to see what they have say. I am excited with this phone, GPS feature is great and internet is very fast, at least here in Houston it is. Now, where do I dowload PAC-MAN? it is one of my favorites.

    My Brown G1 has a keyboard that is difficult and nearly impossible to read !! The charactors are totally washed out, with no contrast as the keyboard is cream colored and the alphabets are white when the backlight goes on. Its terrible. I want to exchange it for a black G1.

    I got my G1 around 1pm oct 22. Used it for about 10 hours and loved it.

    Got my brown G1 and knew within 2 hours that it would be going back. The touch screen doesnt always pic up my touch or opens up the wrong thing. The keyboard was poorly designed as well. Anyone know when a new Blackberry is coming out?

    The stores should have plenty of chargers as the G1 uses the same one as the Dash and the Wing.

    @Sammy, I went to t-mobil store to ask about wallchaarger and guess what? Charger does fit the G1. Store manager showed the same charger and plugged it to the phone with no problem. I came and yeah! Chaarger works.

    This is been sent from my G1 phone away from home where there is no 3G and even internet over EDGE network is very fast.

    I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!!!!!!

    You’re welcome Sammy. For those of you that were a child or teenanger of the 80′s….Pac-Man is back on Android to download. It was not available until today and man!! this is the original game and I downloaded it FREE, on other forums they’re saying that they ask to pay for it before downloading it, it was not my case, I got it FREE. There is only one problem….IT IS ADDICTIVE!!!!!!!! So make sure you do not forget what’s more important in your life once you get Pac-Man on your G1.

    I don’t know if I am wrong or I am ignorance. I try to download some files e.g. pdf, gif, excel, or some software from fujitsu update service and all I got is the message ” cannot download, the content being download is not supported on the phone”.
    Do I missed something ?????
    Please help.

    Man I ordered October 3,Black G1…..i called t-mobile they said mines on back order and i see some fools are getting theirs and they ordered 2 weeks AFTER ME! BULLLLLLLLSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHIT times 2………any thoughts

    Miguel, Have you checked ups.com? sometimes updates on website are not really up to date. use your phone # as reference, rememer to use dashes. We have to remember that sometimes when we call customer service, we are just talking to a person in a cubicle hundreds of miles away that maybe just got a new job. A friend of mine got it his yesterday and they had told him Monday that it was on back-order. he ordered his Oct. 1st.

    Louis, Android is releasing the first Update for the phone in a few days that is supposed to fix some of these issues. As far as I know you may open excel files but you cannot edit them these are read only files. Since the phone just launched, Android has to wait and see what bugs come along with it like any other software. Like I said, first update is coming out in a few days.

    UPDATES for G1 phone will be available Friday October 31, 2008. this update is suppose to fix lots of issues with applications, email notifications from pop servers, etc. T-mobile will send an e-mail to all customer when this update is available to download to your phone.
