Is that the dude from those 2 obnoxious Twix commercials? “NEED A MOMENT?”

Anyway, I don’t find these commercials funny.

  • Galvatron

lol i wonder if ther trying to tell you we don’t like BG for soiling stuff Cryptic Message maybye?

  • MooseBerry

I noticed under the “best coverage” tag it says in small print “based on global coverage”. I have used both at&t and Verizon Wireless for years and I can say that at&t gets the best equipment and they don’t dumb it down but Verizon’s network is far superior in the Northeast. It just comes down to what’s more important.

I must say that AT&T does have somewhat funny commercials.

    :0)

    Thanks, Captain Obvious!!!!!!

In Finland, ad’s for good coverage are so -96. But since, carriers have gotten their act together.

  • MadMike

@Jeremiah: Calls were dropping because either a.) my phone, b.) my network or c.) combination of A & B. And “maybe you shouldn’t use the COMMAND on your Mercedes then. Or get a better handsfree car kit.” Okay, so I spend all this money on a car only to not use its features and buy some radio shack special handfree kit. Right, I’ll get right on that. The handsfree wasn’t dropping the calls, I was getting frustrated and yelling at the system. The voice recognition doesn’t work when you are annoyed and road raging. And you can leave the hippy-liberal “I don’t make any money so I’m going to make snide remarks at anyone who does” attitude at home. It’s only a C350 not a gold plated S550.

@Duvi: I have the “iJesus Phone 3G” on AT&T. My Blackberry curve doesn’t have a problem either. “It’s the network” as they say.

That commercial has been airing in hawaii for 2 weeks now come on and to think Boygenuis looks like that I think not

  • Jeremiah

@MadMike – alright, I deserved that. But I could care less what you’re driving–you can drive a C350 or a Maybach for all I care. I suppose I just wanted to show I knew what you were talking about.

In any case, if AT&T’s so bad, why don’t you drop them? Jailbreak that iPhone and Curve and get T-Mobile?

  • MadMike

@Jeremiah: Oh Okay. AT&T’s not *that* bad. It’s just those few spots are the worst. My point was that the US doesn’t have any accountability for companies that make false claims. They say they have the best network and the least dropped calls, yet all the independent studies show otherwise, yet they still air those commercials without repercussion.

It’s like Comcast saying they have the most HD, when they, in-fact have the least HD. Heck, one can even say they have NO HD, because they over compress the signal so much. Or even worse, like “HD Radio” I didn’t know audio had 720 or 1080 lines of resolution. Heck, I even love that commercial about some eWallet to “Get a High Definition view of your finances” Really? They have a website that runs at a native 1920×1080 resolution?

  • Aaron

I thought the same thing when I heard it…was going to e-mail.

  • DavidB

The problem is Mike that they can (and do) commission some study that “proves” their claims and FTC let’s them get away with it. There is no “truth in advertising” any more, practically EVERY AD ON TV (especially) is lying. OR they bury some BS disclaimer at the bottom of the page in tiny type that even with a high def service and dvr you’d be hard pressed to actually read!

  • Bowser

BG you a such an ATT apple fanboy omg why do people come to your site? Verizon commercial awesome? not accoding to you. This proves your on they’re payroll. Commercial sucks.

  • yayo

    not funny.

  • Joseph Singer

AT&T “bars” campaigns are just totally lame.

  • Anonymous loser

That should be a Verizon commercial. AT&T coverage sucks & is ranked lower than other US carriers.

Anyone take a close look at the fine print when they show Best Coverage… it says based on global coverage at the bottom.

That’s right, AT&T can only claim to be the best when they use their agreements with other carriers in countries outside the US. AT&T in the US sucks a$$. Being the best globally has nothing to do with AT&Ts network.

That is why the Storm will be so good. It can use the same global networks as AT&T and use Verizon in the US. Verizon global phones are truly the best all around or coverage.

OMG i saw the same commercial and i was wondering if you had noticed that too! obviously 1,000 emails and comments later you would have to take notice but, as i was watching the commercial and he name dropped you and the plot was just “LMAO” material

    HAHAHAHA!! Awesome.

  • matrix2004 from HOFO

I like how Boy Genius was taken away. LOL.

  • J

actually, let me clear it up for all of you that are misinformed

the independent studies do not show that verizon has the fewest dropped calls… nor do they show that at&t does… for a long time, the most widely used tests DID show that at&t had the fewest dropped calls (hence the claim and the reason why verizon never claimed it) – but, the most recent tests show that the two companies are within 10ths of a percentage points of each other, meaning that neither can make the claim of “fewest dropped calls” because it’s within the margin of error…

so, that’s when at&t went with the best coverage (based on global) claim – which is true – and verizon did the “most reliable” bit, which is about as vague a statement as you can get in advertising.

  • Jeremiah

Yeah see that’s the thing. You can hold them accountable for your personal experiences, but not everyone’s is the same, and thus when they say they’re the best overall, how can you really, truly prove them wrong?

  • http://www.k5live.com Likeabite

OF COURSE that’s not u BG…you LOVE AT&T so we all know what you’re working with… “Posted from BRG Iphone” or sumthin of that sort lol. This commercial is kind of funny but the Verizon “Dead Zone” commercials are better though and J tests do prove that Verizon’s network is better and with fewer dropped calls. They do not have to use “fewer dropped calls” when they can just simply say they have the most reliable network.

  • Ryan

rogers in canada uses the most reliable shit
and most of the world KNOWS they’re horrible.

  • Patti

I don’t have a comment, I am wondering who the little girl is on the ATT commercial acting as Gretel, she looks just like Emily Deschanel.

Wealth may be an excellent thing, for it means power, and it means leisure, it means liberty.
