Your wallet can stop screaming at you now, Verizon discounting data devices

General

If you aren’t planning to catch the Hogwarts Express when it leaves on September 1, you might want to use the time you’ll save packing between now and then to run over to a Verizon store. It seems as if they’ll be discounting select data devices through the end of this month. Prices of discounted devices are as follows:

  • LG enV2 – $79.99 (reduced from $99.99)
  • LG Voyager – $99.99 (reduced from $149.99)
  • Blackberry Curve 8330 – $99.99 (reduced from $149.99)
  • Blackberry 8830 World Edition – $149.99 (reduced from $199.99)

Looks like a great week to replace that RAZR you just dropped in the sand with something a little more 2008 (or 2007, as the case may be).

Curve is $49.99 at Best Buy with new 2 yr contract….. hahha free promo for my work XD

  • cwcanty

Their 30 dollars buddy, same as att. T-mobile and sprint are a little cheaper, but their coverage is subpar. Quit whining and sack up…or don’t get a smartphone!

  • Galvatron

tmos only $20 an isn’t cped at % gigs lik att verizon and sprint are

  • Codey H.

it’s also not 3G unless you’re in a handful of cities

  • Galvatron

edo rev a is 2.5g at best

The device pricing in not the problem. Verizon needs to come in line with their data plans. Verizon charges $45/mo. for unlimited data usage where as AT&T is only $20 and T-Mobile at $15. Come on Verizon, compete or get out. I’m changing services at renweal just for the pricing.

I would much rather pay more for the phone and less for the plan. Just like the iPhone. It was originally expensive but the plan was cheap so it was appealing. Now the phone is cheap but the plan is more.. not as appealing

Oh well. FWIW I think the price reductions of the Curve and 8830 are making way for the Storm!

cwcanty, tmo and Sprint are cheaper, as far as voice goes all compare well with the others. The 3g data coverage is where vzw and the cheaper Sprint seperate the crowds. Don’t start that crap about sub par service

People complaining about Verizon’s data pricing need to get with the times. Most of Verizon’s smartphones now support their 30 dollar unlimited data plan.

Considering Verizon’s network, it’s a very good price.

BTW. They’ve also dropped the price of the Pearl down to 79.99.

    @ Galv

Everytime you post you look more like an idiot.

  • Galvatron

lol low an behold when verizon sprint and at are talking “unlimited” data their only talking 5 gigs an yes cell cose need competing rate’s the the exclusive shell game is getting old.

  • Lefty

    @ Galv

You prove my point once again!

    Thanks.

    @Gal

How are you going to pass 5 gigs on a smart phone? That’s allot of PDFs and tv series downloads you have to be doing.

  • John

My contract for verizon is up tomorrow. Does Verizon give extra discounts for new phone/new contract signing? I’ve been working with this crappy LG phone and looking to ‘man up’ with a Curve.

rev a is only 2.5g at best. that is really funny being that the at&t guy just bought a rev a aircard from us and told us ours is much faster than their 3g. kinda like saying michael jordan never won a nba title

  • Kevin

These prices aren’t good, even with the sale. I have the T Mobile Blackberry Curve. It was only $50, and the unlimited data is only $20/m. That beats Verizon by a long shot.
