BlackBerry Bold is the BlackBerry 9000?

Exclusive

We’ve got some intel that we’ve been sitting on that suggests the final name of the BlackBerry 9000 will turn out to be the BlackBerry Bold. This isn’t confirmed, and the domain, which was purchased from a shady-looking comnpany in Canada, currently has text link ads on it. Not a good sign. Let’s see if this pans out. Anyone feeling the name if it turns out to be real?

Another thought to consider … “9000″ conjures up fond memories of HAL. And I think this BlackBerry, while lacking the infamously ominous red eye of HAL 9000, by carrying the Precision themes, definitely brings the colour red to the forefront. Now I just want HAL’s voice for some of the sounds. “Dave, you have a new SMS message.” “Dave? Dave? You have a call.”

Verizon hasn’t had a release date BB i think ever…I could be wrong. But definately not recently. They took forever getting all the newest devices, what makes you think that will change now?? My vote is on at&t getting it first, maybe T-Mobile.

I’m retracting my last statement on here, due to further information received…while not the best name RIM could have come up with, BlackBerry Bold it will be.

hmm, seems like blackberrybold.com gets redirected to http://www.blackberry.com/blackberrybold/

which is no longer available. But proof perhaps?

I agree it is now getting directed to http://www.blackberry.com/blackberrybold/ .. So, you’ll have to hand it to the guys at crackberry for finding out the name… The better question is when will Blackberry 9000 or BOLD be released to the public?

Isn’t Pi a root of something?? Are you serious.. heh.. While I agree that the Blackberry Pi would be a cool name, really who cares. I mean I have a Pearl, and while it sounds kinda cool, I just say I have a blackberry. Who cares if it’s called Bold. Look at the Wii, did Nintendo suffer from that? Ya, all the way to the bank!
