We’ll keep this one in the rumor file for now, but word on the street is that Microsoft might be getting ready to make a bid for Logitech. If the rumors are true, the folks over in Redmond could be willing to pay upwards of $9 billion for the rights to the “Logitech empire”. Microsoft themselves hold dominion over a very large portion of the current computer accessory and peripheral market, with their lines of keyboards and mice found in office and desktop environments everywhere. If they were to snag Logitech, they would become, without question, the world’s most dominant peripheral force. That has a nice ring to it, right? We’ll wait to see how this one pans out, but Logitech’s stock is currently up 12% on the rumor, so even if things don’t ultimately materialize you won’t hear stock holders complaining.
