Verizon announces the Coupe

With the growing trend of packing more and more functionality into cell phones, it’s almost comforting to see a carrier drop an ultra simple phone dedicated to nothing more than, you know, making phone calls. Sounds crazy, right? Verizon announced the Coupe today, a phone that features little more than a tip calculator, world clock, and CDMA radio. That last feature, of course, would seem to be the phone’s biggest draw, though to be fair the thing is pretty dang thin as well, which is never a bad thing. Money in the bank? The Coupe will retail for $19.99 with a two year contract. Sounds good, though the prospect of being stuck with this bad boy for more than 2 days is a little frightening to us. That said, we’re not exactly the target market. It looks like a grown up FireFly, if you will, for the older elderly market. Pick one up beginning today if you’re so inclined.
