LG’s new Windows Mobile handset?

This is unconfirmed, so take it with several grains of salt, but rumor pegs this as LG’s upcoming Windows Mobile 6 smartphone. Any complaints? We didn’t think so. Executed with LG’s now-trademark beautiful Prada-esque design, this handset will reportedly sport UMTS connectivity, a rather large 800×480 touchscreen, and more. Sadly, this device will not sport a 5 megapixel shooter as previously rumored. The phone, which is depicted in rendered form above, will adhere to the Prada/Chocolate/KU990 aesthetic, but with a more business-oriented, Windows Mobile sporting demeanor. We’ll keep you posted as more specifics emerge. Until then, speculate away!

    Finally, this is what I’m talking about. Now If we can get it with a decent carrier I would be good. Oh, and one more thing LG. Make it a true touch screen, I don’t what to take a stylus out after the first initial screen.

    I would love to see a sliding qwerty keyboard as it is still the best to key text. And add a GPS, mobile TV, etc… I am greedy:)

    This rumour seems weird. LG still has a page up on their Korean site dated August 21st regarding this device and it doesn’t mention WM6 at all. It does mention the 5MP camera with manual focus, though, and I’d take that any day over WM6. It’s also claiming 120fps video recording, unless Babelfish is lying to me. In any case, I sure hope it’s an HSDPA device with 5MP camera and a 3″ screen, cause if so I’m totally bringing over to this side of the ocean!

    Matt S. Are you saying that this is the GSM version of the Prada like phone for Verizon? And if so, that is the LG VX10000 model?

    That’s a different phone. The one with a 5.0 camera is the KU990 or Viewty.This one is the KS20. Neither is going to Verizon, ever.

    As stated in the post, the picture above is merely an artist’s rendering of what the phone _might_ look like. It also clearly says that the rumored WM6 phone “will adhere to the … KU990 aesthetic” implying that this is a totally different phone.

    The Viewty (KU990) will still be released with all the specs you have mentioned.

    I think the picture is of the KU990, but as was pointed out to me, it is only supposed to be an artist’s rendering. Which basically means they put the WM6 home screen on the KU990/Prada and called it a rendering.

    I agree, it looks like a ku990, why cant lg install wm6 onto the ku990 though, it would then make for a really hi spec smartphone?
