What exactly is the HTC Juno?

General

CrunchGear seems to have it on good authority that HTC and AT&T are well on their way to bringing the HTC Juno to the masses. For those that don’t know, the HTC Juno should be a GSM variant of the popular HTC Vox smartphone. The device features Windows Mobile 6 Standard edition (no touch screen love), with a nice little slide out QWERTY keyboard, and all of the other usual amenities. It will sport a 2 megapixel camera, and some flavor of 3G connectivity. According to their source, the phone is set to launch sometime after the Motorola Q9h and the HTC Tilt. All that said, what we heard about the Juno, was that it was going to T-Mobile USA. So, go figure.

    What exactly is the HTC Juno

    Another Win Mobile phone that nobody really cares about. How is this any different from any other Win Mobile phone. Everybody is so concerned about the hardware when most of these phones run the crappy Win Mobile OS. And how can anyone get excited over that.

    I gotta say…I’m pretty impressed with AT&T’s selection of “upcoming phones” (if they ever come out)- Razr2 V9, Tilt, Blackberry Pearl 2, BB 8820 (I think thats the number for it), and now this…not too shabby..

    Its good to be the largest GSM carrier in the US. I’ve onlt been with them for 3 years but i cant complain about cs or coverage.

    HTC makes cool looking gadgets but they suck.. ever since i had their MDA, i’ve never went back to their garbage products. The Wing is trash too. Stick to RIM or that iPhone, if they ever unlock it.

    @Vik
    You forgot the Q9h.

    This looks pretty sleek but I would rather have a Vox and the picture that’s up shows a touch screen not a standard smartphone deal. Just to let you guys know.

    Thought this one would be perfect to say…Kaiser…12 days to drop…

  • test5477

    Jeff isnt ATT calling it the Tilt? anyways, i’ve never owned an GTC but their products do look very good. Its the WM that i have questions about.

    I thought it was 12 days yesterday….I’m confused…

    I’m assuming that “usual amenities” include WiFi.

    “For those that don’t know, the HTC Juno should be a GSM variant of the popular HTC Vox smartphone.”

    Say what? The HTC Vox is GSM too. Maybe you meant to say 3G variant? In any case, it looks exactly like the 5800/S720. I bet it doesn’t come with wifi either.

  • iHateApple

    It doesn’t look that slick…If HTC could produce a slim PDA then I might get excited over it…but I dont want to lug around an overweight, too thick product. For now, I’ll stick to RIM!

  • Ryan

    So which is it, AT&T or T-Mobile? The post mentions both…

  • Jeff B.

    @test
    I can’t really answer any questions about the WM6 but you know about the WM5 OS so…your choice and they are calling it the Tilt but personally I like Kaiser better but ya know its just a name. All its names are tilt, kaiser, blade, slide, 8925, P4550, and some others that I don’t remember.

    @Tee Jay
    I don’t know I guess it’s 11 days? All I know is I can get one on September 3rd and that’s all that matters.

    so is this the s710, or the 3g s730?

    the htc s710 vox is gsm, the s720 is the cdma version. would be psyched if its the s730…

  • dan

    Agree with apple and cee… Stick with RIM…

  • Galvatron

    disagree wirh apple wattered down cookie cutter stick with rim

  • htcvoxuser

    I thought the S730 is code named HTC Wings… Juno looks like Wings without GPS and the 2nd Camera

  • Driften

    I have seen the T-Mobile HTC Juno and its a TMO exclusive. It does not look like the picture above. It looks more like a Samsung Blast.

  • anonymous

    I too have seen the HTC Juno and indeed it looks nothing like the picture above. It should be launching with T-Mobile within the next month, month and a half. I think Crunch gear started this ATT rumor.
