Are you one of those closet Karaoke freaks? Do you think that you can belt out a version of “I Will Always Love You” better than Whitney herself? Or do you simply have a song stuck in your head? Whatever the case, Midomi is trying to cover that. This new online service allows you to search for music by simply humming a few bars of that devil song. The service employs MARS (Multimodal Adaptive Recognition System), allowing you to sing a little somethin’ into your computer’s built in mic, and get a matching song in return. Sound dope? We think so, though repeatedly singing “I could make a mil’ sayin’ nothing on the track” produced results of varied success. If you get tired of searching for those long lost songs, Midomi also gives you the option of recording and sharing your very own renditions of classic tracks. Virtual Karaoke, what?
