The first Wireless USB PCs have been announced

Dell and Lenovo have jumped out in front of the pack, announcing Monday the first wireless USB notebooks to hit production. Along with wireless hubs and wireless USB adapters from D-Link and IOGear, the ThinkPad L61 and the Inspiron 1720 are set to be produced in time for back-to-school and holiday shopping. Wireless USB should become more popular in future months, with up to 480 megabits per second at 10 feet and 110 mbps at 30 feet of high-speed flava’ at your fingertips…faster than Bluetooth, and more power-conscious than WiFi. And, with out-of-the-box functionality with legacy USB products, their use isn’t just for the uber-tech-savvy.
