Verizon releases all-inclusive unlimited plans

News

Feeling inadequate after Apple’s record setting weekend, Verizon has stepped up their rate plan offerings, unleashing a big dose of "unlimitedness" (their word, not ours) on the unsuspecting consuming public. Verizon’s new plans are called America’s Choice Select Premium, and offer unlimited SMS, MMS, IM, Email, V Cast, VZ Navigator, and In Network Calling. Pretty slick. Prices vary according to the number of minutes you need, ranging from $79.99 for 450 minutes to $239.99 for 6000 minutes. Sounds pretty good to us, but given Verizon’s spotty track record for interpreting the word "unlimitedness" we’d counsel you to be careful before sending 100,000 SMS messages in a single month. Don’t say we didn’t warn ya!

    “Required Equipment
GPS–capable CDMA tri–mode or all–digital phone with Verizon Wireless software”

so basically, customers can’t take advantage of all the other “unlimitedness” w/o either an lg or motorola. that gives customers about 10 phones to choose from.

Well I looked at the site (I am a verizon customer) and did not see any mention of a data plan. It looks to me like the AT&T/iPhone is still a better deal because compared to my Blackberry plan I am paying about $30 more than the iphone plan which includes unlimited data.

Check out VZW’s web site for a very wide selection of new plans. There are Basic plans for voice only, Select plans for voice & unlimited messaging, and Premium Plans for voice, messaging, mobile email, V Cast, and VZ Navigator.

And for those BlackBerry & PDA users there are Amercia’s Choice Email Plans which include data for email and internet browsing. There is also an option that includes unlimited messaging.

I think Verizon is responding to customer demand and offering very well-price plans which package multiple services together.

Doesn’t sprint have a plan that’s like unlimited everything for like $120 a month?? If so I think that’s a major bargin! I’m not so much of a verizon fan yeah they supply my landline and dsl but they will never supply my cell phone! They just have nothing that attracts me. Cingular=Rollover,Nextel=Churp,Sprint=Cheap rates&plans,Verizon=…….???

Make sure you look apples to apples. You are paying more for higher data speeds, more reliable email from blackberry, better business email and a much more durable device. iPhone is not intended to be a business device at the same time blackberry has just begun to do consumer. weigh out what you actually need, never buy on price alone. what kind of car do you drive? honda or hyundai? toyota or kia? get the idea? (u get what u pay for)
