Apple’s integrated iSight cameras are the source of incredible distraction for many Mac users. Anyone who has spent more than 3 hours taking ridiculous Photo Booth shots knows what I’m talking about. The resolution of the camera, however, has always left something to be desired. VGA cams are great for compressed web video chats, but don’t provide much in the way of quality photographic images. It seems like Apple has quietly updated the iSight cams on their new Santa Rosa-based MacBook Pros, with the new cams clocking in with 1.3 megapixel sensors. The new sensors aren’t utilized by any of Apple’s iLife apps just yet, but could increased video resolution be in the cards for Leopard? We’ll just have to wait and see.
