Rather than come up with some kind of revolutionary new pointer option to replace the mouse, companies insist on simply adding to the current form in hopes of finding new market share. The “Personal Security Mouse” from IOGEAR, adds a fingerprint scanner directly to the back of the mouse, allowing for secure logins and protection from unauthorized use. But that’s not all it protects against. Its Titanium Dioxide and Silver nano-particle compound “uses two mechanisms to deactivate enzymes and proteins to prevent a wide spectrum of bacteria, fungi, and algae from surviving on the surface of the mouse.” This got us all excited, until we read another two lines down and saw the disclaimer suggesting that it doesn’t always work and that you shouldn’t eat it. Keep trying, guys.
