New WiFi distance record: 238 Miles

News

I have a friend who’s all excited that he got his WiFi network powerful enough that it reaches all corners of his home. Me? I’m excited that mine works on my couch, when it’s based in the bedroom. Imagine the pride felt by Ermanno Pietrosemoli, a researcher in Venezuela, when he accomplished what no one has done prior…a WiFi link of 382km, or 238 miles, using nothing but Intel equipment and a few off-the-shelf items. The previous record of 310km was originally set by Swedish scientists between a balloon and Earth-bound PC, which to us makes this even more impressive. 3MB/sec at 238 miles, with stuff in the way? You go, amigo.

Please use the proper slang not the mexican version. Now as far this goes its is safe to say it is impressive since depending on the area land based inturuptions are horrible.

compaƱero or tipo be better, when did Hugo Chavez change the language, I know he likes to shut down any forms of Capitalism that seems to interfere with his views but I didn’t realize that he decide that Spanish is no longer the official Language.

@nathan as you can see I am refering to the term in the slang form that they used it. Which is more often used in Mexico, also there is no change… Just a simple request from a Colombian(not to be miswritten as Columbian)
