Companies testing new anti-spammer software

There are few things more frustrating than knowing you’re not a spammer, or a machine, and trying to buy concert tickets, only to not be able to figure out the puzzle that they put in your way. Is that set of letters “VITER?” Or “VLTER?” Maybe “V1TER?” With “captchas” getting more and more difficult, companies such as Microsoft are trying to come up with ways to make it easier for humans, and more difficult for computers. One way includes an idea where you have 9 pictures of cats and dogs, and you pick the cats to move on. This is usually easy for a person, but with different lighting, angles, and breeds, exceedingly hard for a mischief-ware program to figure out. Soon, there will be little difficulty getting to that John Mayer concert to check out RIM’s sponsorship booth. You can meet me in the club, it’s goin’ down!
